The tap dance scene by the Nicholas Brothers in the 1943 film “Stormy Weather” (feat. and all black cast) was legendary. I first saw the movie back in 1977 and to this day I’ve never seen a better dance routine.

So how was my day you ask?
• Traffic on the way to work today was insane! • eBay Rocks, no wait, eBay Sucks! • Google Voice Search saved the day! • Posting photos to both Flickr and my moblog gives me gave joy! • Not looking forward to two weeks alone with the family cat. • I’m looking forward to 9 days of vacation starting right now. • Gobbled down the last of the left-overs from last nights dinner…Tri-tip!

I'l be in the garage
Planning on making a few DIY velcro based GoBo’s, Snoots, and another softbox in the next few days. Mainly because I have most of the material, and I just wanna do it. I’m up to three off camera strobes now but I only have DYI accessories that fit on…the Pentax AF360FGZ.

SomaFM Player
Just paid $3.99 for the SomaFM Player, and it will most likely become the most used audio app on my iPhone 3Gs. I’ve been a SomaFM fan for many years, I use to tune in “Drone Zone” late at night via the WinAmp player on my PC. SomaFM has always been there for me, providing top-notch audio streams 24Hrs a day. I’m a big fan of Groove Salad, one of several channels offered...

Mobile Blogging
Almost up and running with mobile blogging on my iPhone 3Gs. But when it comes to video, I’m still working out all the shakes & moves I’m gonna have to do to get video posted to my blog. I’ve almost got it worked out. More later!

The slow lane SUCKS!
The year 2000 called & they want their software back…ha, ha! It’s been over 45mins and my laptop is still attempting to render a QuickTime video. I’m using a very old and out dated version of ULead VideoStudio 8. Is ULead even in business anymore? Anyway, I created a short (8min long) screencast for a co-worker. The screencast app saved the file as .WMV which is fine for...

Battery drain results!
Well, I can say that my unofficial battery test was a WIN! My iPhone has been running since 4AM and I’m on my way to bed in less than 30min’s. I still have 50% battery life remaining and unless I start playing games at full LCD brightness, streaming music via wifi, or filming a movie with the video camera I would say the battery will last. For the record I used the wifi off & on...

Battery drain test.
Just like the Seinfeld episode where Kramer takes a new car (along with the sales rep) for a test drive, and attemps to see just how far the car will go with the gas guage on empty…I’m gonna see just how long my new iPhone 3Gs will run off a fully charged battery. I powered it up just as I left for work this morning at 4:00AM, it indicated 100% battery remaining. It’s now 3:19PM...

Lack of reliable backup
mSecure is an App Store app for storing and protecting sensitive and personal information like credit cards, bank account info, passwords, and more. I’ve used mSecure for several months and it’s worked just fine until I attempted to backup the data from my iPod Touch and restore it to my new iPhone 3Gs. I’ll start by saying that the backup via email feature does work, but...

Underground Texting
I decided to try and save a little cash on my AT&T wireless bill by not getting a texting plan. AT&T charges $20, $15, and $5 for Unlimited, 1500, or 200 text billed monthly. I figured it was worth a try to see if I can skimp by with a free texting hack using the AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) app on the iPhone or iPod Touch. The app allows AIM users to send IM’s (Instant Messages) to...

The Run-down
I was asked the other day to post a list of what on my iPhone 3Gs once I got it set up. I’m still setting it up and testing out old apps vs. new apps along with tweaking the settings of my favorite must-have apps. Moving info over from my iPod Touch to the 3Gs is truely a test of wills. But as requested…here’s what I have. Apple iPhone Black 16GB 3Gs: 68 Apps (Includes 1 page...

Ducks In A Row.
I’m currently putting together a list of iPhone apps which will be installed on my NEW iPhone. Most of them I already own…they were on my iPod Touch, so I only need to buy 2-3 more apps at $0.99. And just for the record I settled on the Black 16GB 3Gs with a Black Griffin Elan Form hard shell case (already purchased). I went with the 16GB model because after taking a long hard look at how I used...

Back from the great beyond!
From home improvement projects to crap working conditions on the job. From the end of my kids school year to the start of the endless summer….I’m back! With a NEW template that spans across a scattered web presence, I attempt once more to speak in post form. This time I’m bringing more tools. Look for a mobile edition, TV edition, and links to my photographic work from around the...
